MOORESVILLE
Located East of I77, where Highways 150, 21 and 115 come together, the old part of Mooresville retains the character and charm of yesteryear while offering a wide range of specialty stores and restaurants. It has undergone a transformation in recent years and is well worth a visit. You will find smaller, unique and mostly locally owned stores restaurants and coffee shops Plan to stay a while!
To the West of I 77 and close to the East of I77 is extensive new development which has almost all taken place since 1989 when I came to the area. There you will find new shopping centers and most familiar retail and restaurants. Everything is big and new.
Mooresville has been transformed in recent years by the coming of the Lowes Head quarters. Lowes is in the midst of a long term process of building a corporate campus. The other factors leading to growth in Mooresville include growth of development from Charlotte (and the headquarters of Wachovia and Bank of America) There has also been a growing interest in being on the Lake or looking over the Lake, although most Lake Norman development is actually in Iredell County.

STATESVILLE
Plan to enjoy old Statesville. See the wonderful old City Hall building, the old courthouse now housing various County offices. You will find stores offering personal service and your own personal greeting. Shope for mens clothing, camping supplies clocks, pets and antiques. Eat at great restaurants and visit the Civic Center with its Ben Long Fresco.
Statesville also has newer shopping centers and many of the national chain restaurants. Statesville has seen steady growth over recent years, but you can still visit local restaurants a few times and soon find that you are seeing people you know. In coming years Statesville is getting ready to see exponential growth with the coming of "Birkdale North" which is a very large mixed development off I 77 between exits 42 and 45. It is still on the drawing board, but the development is coming and the Statesville City limits will see the biggest changes ever.
