About Christopher Shoobridge

BRIEF BIO

·  I have always had a passion for  land, houses and farms. Maybe my interest started when I was 16 years old and I spent a good deal of time walking over properties as my parents were looking for a new farm. I still love looking at land and houses and real estate has been my full time livelihood since 2000.

· I was born in Tasmania, Australia where my parents ran a polled Hereford farm, but I have deep roots in NC.  My mother is a WWII Veteran from Greensboro and she is a descendant of Steven A. Douglas of the Lincoln- Douglas debates. 

· After graduating from the University of Tasmania,  I came to the US in 1976, just in time for the Bicentennial celebration.

· I worked for many years as a commercial insurance underwriter, specializing in property insurance.

· Over the years I have had the experience of locating land  where I have designed and built several homes for myself, including the one where I now live on Elmwood Road in Statesville.

I HAVE LIVED IN IREDELL COUNTY SINCE 1989.

· My wife is Maggie who is a financial adviser and has her own Edward Jones office.  We have two children in Iredell-Statesville Schools.

· My most enjoyable days in Real Estate are when I am looking at  homes, land  and farms and walking the boundaries.
